| 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful  Very very good, By This review is from: Brooks Men's Switch 4 Running Shoe (Apparel) I have been wearing Brooks for a couple of years now and have been a big fan of the Adrenaline series. I found that they provided a nice amount of support for this medium-sized, flat-footed, over-pronator without being clunky or overwhelming. I was introduced to the Switch 4 and found the pair to have a very similar feel to the Adrenaline's with somewhat less cushioning in the heel. I actually preferred this because I found that I feel more balanced while walking and standing which what I mostly do in these shoes. I bought these for about 70 dollars at Finish Line which is far less expensive than the price listed on Amazon. They also run far cheaper than the Adrenaline shoes, but feel about the same. The Switch 4, as with the Adrenaline's, tend to run small for me and I size up about a 1/2 size. Overall, I think that they're a very good pair of shoes and a great deal, but can be had cheaper elsewhere.  Not as good as Beast for big guys, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Brooks Men's Switch 4 Running Shoe (Apparel) I've owned about 4 pair of Brooks Beast model shoes, size 11.5 over the past 5 years or so. i run about 20 miles per week, mainly on a treadmill. recently my treadmill broke so i've been running outside on an old pair of Beast shoes. so, i ordered these shoes since they were half the price fo the Beast model. To make a long story short, the toe box is much narrower and the cushioning is much narrower. i guess that's why the price is so much less. at any rate, these shoes did not provide the support or cushioning i have grown accustom to with the Beast model and they cramped my toes. btw - i am 6 foot and 210 pounds. so, i will buy the Beast and I'm sure I'll be happy again. Deustch's, who has already written a fair and accurate review for this product.For the slightly flat-footed over-pronater, the Brooks Switch line has shown to be great, and every update has come with steady improvements upon their theme. Switch 1's were good all by themselves, 2's added more front-end stability and support, while the 3's and 4's increased comfort upon the last two. The 3's and 4's seem softer than the first two versions, and wear about 10% faster before you start feeling the "old shoe stiffness" through your legs. Personal experience for me has been about 250-300mi of running before I need to grab fresh rubber. If you have only bought the Switch 1 and 2 versions, make sure to add another half-size before purchasing a 3 or 4. These shoes are worth the money if you have the foot type for them. |
